Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies for the surveillance and diagnosis of viral pathogens – Plant Biosecurity CRC Workshop

The Plant Biosecurity CRC would like to extend the following invitation to all NPBDN members;

We would like to invite you to participate on the “Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies for the surveillance and diagnosis of viral pathogens – Plant Biosecurity CRC Workshop” *organized by the Plant Biosecurity CRC, the Centre for Comparative Genomics and the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources on Tuesday 19th April 2016 at AgriBio, Melbourne.

This Plant Biosecurity CRC (PBCRC) sponsored workshop is free of charge for diagnostician end users from the Commonwealth/State labs and Universities involved in the surveillance and diagnosis of plant viruses and viroids.  The workshop provides a broad overview of NGS and bioinformatics platforms for the diagnosis of viral pathogens in plant imports. In close collaboration with Quarantine Agencies from Australia and New Zealand we have developed a web-based bioinformatics toolkit for the screening of viruses and viroids using small RNA NGS data. This workshop provides a hands-on training opportunity to become familiar with this PBCRC resource for the broad community.

For catering purposes please RSVP to Nicole Dickerson (ndickerson@ccg.murdoch.edu.au) by 10 March 2016.

We invite you to forward this invitation to other colleagues that would benefit to participate in this event.
